Show and Tell

So my husband and I have had one of those weekends...you know, the kind where no matter what, you end up bickering and arguing even though you don't want to, over little stupid things even.
So in order to remind myself that Mr. is a good guy, I am choosing this as my "show and tell" this week.
This picture is from Valentine's day two years ago. I forgot to take a picture this year, but this is one of our traditions now. Those are M&M's in my favorite colors (of the time) surrounding my gift. This last year, he wrote out LOVE with dark chocolate peanut M&M's...the V being a heart filled with truffles. See, he does love me and can be romantic at times. One year for V day, he bought me a candle and then surrounded it with CD's of my favorite 80's tunes in the shape of a flower.
He's a good man, I need to remember that when we bicker!

DH and I had the same kind of weekend. I agree- we just need reminders when we aren't seeing eye to eye.

It seems to be the weekend for bickering and our house was no exception. BUT ... like you, I just need to remember that he really is a wonderful DH. :)

Here from NCLM. That's so sweet and a nice thought to remind you. I need to do that!

We had one of those weekends, too. Is it a full moon?

It's more than what my husband has EVER done. That's very sweet, literally and figuratively.

Awwww . . . that's so sweet! I wish my hubby was romantic. I think you should keep yours (even if he is a pain on occasion). :)

mmmmmmmm...that looks like a tasty bit of love there. Anyone that can spell out their affection for me in food will totally get a gold star!

I think there may have been something in the air for the bickering, as my husband and I had a very similar Sunday!

I think it's awesome that you've chosen to remind yourself, visually, that he really is a great guy!

I need to remember the good times when I am mad at hubby - and the kids and anyone else. Because they so outnumber the bad times! Thanks! NCLM

I do that FAR too often with my husband. Sometimes I get angry, and I just don't know why. Then he gets crabby because I'm angry about the fact that the wind is blowing and he's breathing.

You do have a wonderful husband. Thanks for reminding me that I have a good one too!

Your guy sounds romantic and thoughtful. A nice show and tell and good reminder for us all. :0)

That was more than a little effort to put those M&Ms on the shape of a heart. Good husband!

I like your color choice too!

I hate those weekends. It happens every so often with me and Dr. Man, too. I do the same thing and try to remember how wonderful he really is, even if he's irritating me at the time.

DH and I have been doing a lot of bickering lately. I think we all need to remember that we have wonderful DH's, even if mine tends to forget holidays and such. :)

Hope you're doing well. Please check in soon.

I hate days like that - it's like once you start, you can't stop! But good for you for remembering the cute things he does.

Just read several of your posts and I want to comment on all of them. LOL

So here are some tidbits...my husband and I also met on line.

One of the reasons I wanted to try IVF for our second son was that I didn't want my older son to be an only for very similar reasons as you.

My mother was a reading teacher (chapter 1) for something like 30 years. She would agree completely with you about letting your son be one of the older kids, and not the youngest. Two of my nephews ended up repeating a grade (one actually moved from 3rd grade back to 2nd grade mid year, and one repeated kindergarten). They were both one of the youngest. Too bad my mom didn't encourage my brother and SIL to just let them wait a year for the start.

Re. bickering. IF takes a toll on couples. I'm sure I don't have to tell you how stressful it can be on a marriage. Very wise of you to remember the good times when you go through a rough patch! The hubs and I are finally on the other side of IF and I'm just starting to accept the toll dealing with 7 years of it has taken on us.

I look forward to reading more!
